At the onset, sister Grace Viola and our children John Jr., Mounika and I started a Sunday school with collaboration of the local pastor Rev. Arun Kumar. For several months they would take some sweets, soft drinks to attract the children and slowly lead them to a disciplined way of behavior and most importantly, to Christ. When little money was available for my family needs, my wife and children unselfishly desired to have half of the monies be allotted for one classroom to be rented. By doing so, the children could be schooled in an academic style. After discussion and prayer a school with 75 poor children began. This is the humble beginning of the Kainrads’ Primary School. As days passed, the demand and request were many by parents who wanted their children enrolled the school to be educated in learning, discipline and standard spirituality. In spite of inconveniences in the use of rented houses, we had moved the school at least three times throughout the first academic year in order to accommodate the increased student population. After prayer and consultation with brother David, the Kainrads Educational Society was formed and legally registered with the government. The registration permits the students education to be recognized anywhere in India. Also, the schools receive free textbooks for the children because the society is providing free education poor students. I would you to know about the uniqueness of Kainrads Primary School. First, it is an English medium & free. In our country we can never imagine of an English Medium school going free. To my knowledge this is the first school of that type. Secondly, as mentioned before, all the teaching materials for both the teachers and school children are provided free. As the school was on the move there was an event that broke our hearts this past spring. As noted earlier, Satellite City is full of thatched huts that are clutched together without any proper roads and sanitation etc. One day, an old blind lady got up late in the night and tripped over a Kerosene lamp. And it created a big fire and all the near by thatched sheds caught fire within minutes many were burnt to the ground. By the grace of God the people inside the huts were able to escape without serious injury. The saddest part of this tragedy are the school children that where affected. Immediately, our prayerful thought ran towards the direction of brother David and through compassion he answered positively in support of these affected families of the fire. The Kainrad family provided the amount needed to buy the basic staples. As soon as the funds arrived we wasted no time and took all priority measures to supply the families with needed utensils and food items for a month or so. New clothes, blankets, towels were also purchased for the fire victims. Most of them reciprocated their thanks with tears of joy. Oh, it was a touching event. Once again, a special thanks to the Kainrad family. There was a keen observation done by sister Grace as she spends much time with the children throughout each school day. During the lunch hour she observed some children not going home to have lunch or they did not bring a pack lunch to eat. On inquiry, she came to know their mothers had not prepared anything for them and they would go hungry till late in the night. This broke sister Grace’s heart and from that day on she shares her lunch pack with these children. She has prayed many times with tears that our Lord would send someone who would extend a helping hand to feed these children who often go hungry. The children go without one square meal a day. The Lord heard and answered her prayers. Sister Carol Ball, through brother Court Wood, Director of In Jesus Name Ministries came forward with help for these children. A blessed day it was when the Kainrad Orphanage was opened. A little cooking department is attached in one of the rooms of the school. Since the opening of the orphanage, around 15 orphan children and other poor children joyfully enjoy a cooked meal, praise the Lord! It is the ministry’s innermost desire that all the children would get something to munch at lunch hour since most of the children are underfed. Malnutrition is a serious problem in our country and especially in our situation with the poorest of the poor children. At lunch break it is noticeable that their food is nothing but a little boiled rice with salt and water. On a special day they may have a little vegetable curry. That is all they eat. I pray some good soul with compassion will be moved by God and inspired to extend a compassionate hand of help for the precious little children. In the history of school ministry, something happened that was so important that we would never forget and recall often. It has been a committed prayer of all the children, school staff, me, sister Grace and pastor Arun Kumar and the church congregation that a separate building be found to house the school and church. Due to rented building we experience various problems each day. Thus, our prayer have been for the ministry to own building that could be used both as church and school campus. Suddenly we heard of the sad news of the death our grand father Chris August Kainrad on 7th , December 2001. The whole school stood in awe and silence when word of his death was announced. But God did something even out of this deep sadness. All the family members and well-wishers who gathered for the funeral of our grand dad contributed their love gifts. The Kainrad family immediately dedicated the memorial gifts collected for the purchase and to build a church and school on. The amount received was the amount needed to purchase the property. Once again, God made away where there seemed to be no way. While purchasing and negotiating for the land the government gave such a great concession to this school because they recognized the worth of the work that is renders to the poorest of the poor. At first, the amount collected on the day of grand dad’s funeral would have not been enough to purchase the property. However, the government gave the school ministry special consideration in the negotiation and purchase. Thus today, the Kainrads Educational Society proudly possess it’s own plot of 2019 square yards on an elevated place in Satellite City. The site is ideally situated having four sides road access and has an elevation of the highest point of the area. All A, B, C and D blocks of Satellite City have easy access to the property location. It is with joy that I can say the utility work had been completed over the site. Had the site not been prepared, the ministry would have been forced to spend money that it does not have in preparing the site for building. Once again, God provided another unmet need, praise the Lord! With loud voices of praise unto God, we once again knelt down and regularly invoked His name to do the rest of the constructions needed over the site. There is not a single cent available in our pocket but we have a mountain size faith that our Lord would lead someone to assist in the building of a church and school for 1,000. The estimated cost of construction is $30,000.00. With this courage and hope of our God, on the 23 rd of June, we ventured in an action of faith. The ministry laid the foundation stone for the future construction of a church and school. We chose this day because it was the birthday of our twin brothers Dave and Don Kainrad. The whole village of Satellite City gathered together in the public ground purchased for the school with a purpose to worship God – because it was a Sunday. School children with their parents, staff and well wishers lifted their hearts in thanks giving unto God for an hour. A foundation stone was anointed and blessed with oil. REV. PASTOR P. GEORGE, Director of In Jesus Name Ministries – India, laid a foundation stone for the future school. This day goes in gold letters into the annals of the history of Kainrads Educational Society. All those present were filled with tears and full of joy. All the well wishers were surprised and thrilled regarding the great progress the “initial little Sunday school” had made in a short period of time (less than 3 years). My wife Grace and me were literally in tears all through the function. At this juncture, I humbly pray if the Lord leads you to give your kind hand in supporting the school building project for the poor children of Satellite City, we would be most indebted to you. Each dollar you contribute for the school ministry is so precious to us. We have a great hope that construction will begin very soon over the site and the foundation stone laid there. We look unto God who does good to those who love Him and never forgets those that depend on Him. The construction has yet to be started. May God touch many loving hearts so that their generosity will stand as a stone upon stone to Kainrads Educational Society’s new church and school campus. May glory go to God alone. This past year has been a special blessing to all the children in the schools. First, a message was received from Mrs. Kim Schielder, a teacher with Sheboygan Elementary School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She suggested that her students become pen pals with the students at Kainrads schools. Praise the Lord, the students corresponded via the postal service and the children here in India were exceptionally blessed to receive beautiful drawings from their special pen pals. Many of the parents of these poor children and others in the community were surprised to learn of the special love American children have for children of India. Special thanks to sister Kim for her efforts to bring smiles to many of the school children in both countries. Second, the Kainrads schools received special packages of school supplies from the students of St. Francis Xavier School in Merrill, Wisconsin. Again, blessings from heaven. There were enough supplies for all 675 students. There were various school items that we have never seen before. The school supplies were issued in a special ceremony in recognition of St. Francis Xavier School. Our hearts cannot express adequately the joy and appreciation for the beautiful gifts received. May God bless the precious children who freely gave to the poor children who have nothing. Special thanks to the school’s principal, brother Ira Rebella. He coordinated the entire collection, packaging and shipping of the special school supplies. St. Francis Xavier School is blessed to have a caring principal who leads by example. The new school year will also prove to have another “first” for the Kainrads schools. In communicating with brother David, we have come to learn about how students in America perform community service projects. The idea is foreign to us in India. The schools have included in the curriculum this year for the older students to perform community service work. What a blessing it will be to both the students and community to have such a program. The school staff designed a logo that we would like to have placed on tee shirts for students to wear when doing community outreach. Please hold this special program in prayer for success. We are also praying for the funds to purchase the tee shirts and have them printed. To conclude, I wish to add that our Great and Mighty God has given a vision and wisdom to sow the seeds of eternal love and abundant mercy towards these God chosen children. All the children and school staff are full of gratitude for bringing them in to the fold of Kainrads Educational Society. As you sow these seeds here in the schools, we promise to sweat and bring forth fruits thirty-fold, sixty-fold and hundred-fold. We promise to ensure that your dreams come true and your visions are fulfilled through our tireless efforts. With your prayers, support and the continued blessings and guidance of our Heavenly Father will make the dreams a reality.
